How we support

We support adults who live in the Whangārei district who’ve experienced rape or sexual abuse – whether it happened recently or a long time ago. We also support whānau and friends of survivors, knowing how important their role is too.

You don’t need to be in crisis to reach out. People come to us at all different stages of their healing journey, and we’re here to walk alongside you, wherever you’re at. Our support is about making sure you feel heard, respected, and empowered in a way that works for you.

Get help now

We offer 24/7 support through our crisis line. Whether you’re in immediate distress or need guidance, we’re here to listen and help. You’re welcome to drop in at our centre for support, information, or simply a quiet space. We also offer support for whānau and friends.

You don’t need the right words – just come as you are. We’re here to walk alongside you, offering care, clarity, and connection, wherever you are on your journey.

For survivors

We’re here to support you, no matter when or how your experience occurred. We provide a women-centred space, along with phone and referral support tailored to your needs. We walk alongside you, helping you make decisions that feel right and offering practical support. Everything you share with us is confidential, and we always seek your consent before taking any steps. You’re welcome to come in for a quiet space or to connect with others. The impact of sexual harm is unique to each person, and it is never your fault, no matter the circumstances.

For whānau and friends

When a loved one experiences sexual harm, you may feel confusion, guilt, anger, or helplessness. We offer support to help you process your emotions, understand the impacts of trauma, and respond in ways that support the survivor’s needs. We provide a safe, confidential space to navigate complex situations, including when the person who caused the harm is known to you or the survivor. Your wellbeing matters too, and we’re here to walk alongside you as you support their healing journey.

Court support

Our court support service offers tailored support for survivors and their whānau throughout the legal process. Our coordinator will guide you before and during the trial, helping you feel informed and prepared. We provide in-person support at court hearings, police interviews, and meetings with Crown prosecutors. Support continues beyond the trial, including help with victim impact statements, parole board submissions, and more. You don’t have to face the justice system alone – we’re here to support and advocate for you every step of the way.
